Branden Phillips, LICSW (he/him)

Therapist

Heads up! As a practice, we know it’s important to know all the details about our education and experience. However, we also want to honor our values of authenticity and being humans first. If you are looking for all the formal things, keep scrolling (it’s at the bottom).

I love using humor in therapy - but I’ll probably never tell you to STOP IT! (a la Bob Newhart).

Availability

Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 am to 5 pm

I am an outdoors lover, who is happiest spending a summer evening by the lake fishing. Still, that doesn’t stop me from engaging my other loves of technology, games and all things geek.

Primary Populations

Adolescents with Anxiety, Depression or Trauma | Autism Spectrum Disorder | College Students with Adjustment Concerns Adults with Trauma, Depression or Anxiety

I find humor, dark or otherwise, to be a great way at addressing our inner demons and our needs.

I am "geek" and LBGTQ+ friendly and have experience with people from diverse cultural, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. I also have extensive experience working with people and families managing chronic illness, hospice and palliative care, and end-of-life decisions. With affirmation, practical education, and clinical guidance, I help individuals gain personal insights, nurture relationships, and manage difficulties in their lives.

I believe in identifying core values and using those to shape experiences in a validating and meaningful way. I combine solution-focused, strength-based therapeutic methods with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), EMDR and skills work to directly address an individual’s specific concerns. I believe in the value and uniqueness of every individual and understand there is not a single path in life.

My work is guided by a passion for providing people with a supportive and therapeutic environment where they can grow, solve problems, and improve their lives and relationships. I believe in the importance of genuine engagement alongside clinical practice and aim to provide people with the tools by which they can begin to confront life's challenges.

I am keen on exploring the way that technology can help us heal and understand ourselves more deeply. I am also interested in the human experience and believe that everyone has their own path to walk. Together we can work to clear the bramble or perhaps, find a different direction to go.
